There are 1.6 million Americans (including 80,000-plus children) who suffer from Crohn's and colitis, both of which are debilitating digestive diseases for which there are no cures. CCFA's mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. CCFA is a 4-star nonprofit organization; 82 cents of each dollar fund education, support and research. CCFA has been involved with every Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) research breakthrough since its inception in 1967.
Take Steps is a family-friendly awareness and fundraising walk for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Los Angeles Take Steps will feature a live band performance by Diversion, actor/comedian MC Ben Morrison, face painting, food, speakers, raffles, kids' activities and fun for the whole family. Registration is free and there is no fundraising requirement, though we hope attendees will be inspired to donate in support of the cause. Anyone can participate (wheel chair accessible, stroller-friendly, pets on leash). Take Steps is intended to not only raise money for the foundation but to promote awareness and unite the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) community. The event will be held Sunday, June 14, at 10 a.m., at Crescent Bay Park, 2000 Ocean Ave.
