The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department will present "The Great God Pan" Oct. 16-25 at the Theatre Arts Main Stage on the SMC main campus, 1900 Pico Blvd.
In "The Great God Pan" - a haunting play by Amy Herzog - up-and-coming journalist Jaime's life is going great, but when a possible childhood trauma comes to light, lives are thrown into a tailspin. This unsettling, deeply compassionate, and intimate performance tells the tale of what is lost and won when a hidden truth is suddenly revealed. The SMC production is directed by Dr. Adrianne Harrop.
This theatrical performance contains adult subject matter, and may not be suitable for younger audiences.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 and 23, and on Saturday, Oct. 17 and 24. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, and on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25. A preview is scheduled at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Advance tickets range from $12 to $15 ($8 for preview), plus a service charge, and can be purchased by going to www.smc.edu/eventsinfo or by calling (310) 434-4319 or (310) 434-3005 Monday through Friday. Tickets are $3 higher at the door. Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends.
