The S. Mark Taper Foundation has awarded a grant of $25,000 to SOL-LA Music Academy, a Santa Monica community music school, to support program growth and to strengthen organizational capacities. The grant will enable SOL-LA to fulfill its mission of providing high quality music instruction to students from all backgrounds and economic circumstances.
"We are honored to receive a $25,000 grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation," said Margaret Lysy, SOL-LA founder and director. " Now in our eighth year, SOL-LA has been building a music education program that provides innovative arts instruction to children from all backgrounds and income levels. This grant will enable us to continue to develop an innovative curriculum and strengthen our organization to reach out to more communities through music education. "
