Both of Santa Monica’s state legislators, Senator Ben Allen and Assemblymember Richard Bloom, who each reside in Santa Monica themselves, join Mayor Sue Himmelrich and the Santa Monica Democratic Club to canvass their own neighbors to vote No on the Republican Recall on September 14.
The Santa Monica Democratic Club is heralding the No on the Recall election campaign here in Santa Monica by organizing a variety of events to get out the vote including weekly canvassing, phonebanking, textbanking, postcarding and tabling. “Our responsibility is to reach every Democratic voter we can - especially in deep blue regions like ours - and make sure they Vote No on the Republican-led recall of Governor Newsom,” said Jon Katz, the President of the Santa Monica Democratic Club. The California Democratic Party is organizing a statewide Weekend of Action to ensure Democrats vote No and then sign and return their ballots right away.
All are welcome to join the Santa Monica Democratic Club with Senator Allen, Assemblymember Bloom, and Mayor Himmelrich to attend a training session in person OR via Zoom this Saturday, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. before joining the effort to knock on our neighbors doors. There will be a full training on how to canvass, what to say, and what to leave behind.
Then volunteers will head out throughout Santa Monica to knock on doors.
