The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore hosts FREE monthly paint-outs on the second Saturday of the month. Plein air paint-outs are a great way to meet other artists and discover new sites for inspiration. All plein air artists and art enthusiasts are welcome to participate, no membership required. Bring your own art supplies, water, lunch, sunscreen and repellent, hat and walking shoes. Rain cancels the paint-out.
This historic location was the home of "America's most beloved citizen" Will Rogers from 1928 to 1935 and provides hiking trails, a gift store & visitor center and tours of the the iconic western ranch house which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
