The American Red Cross Los Angeles Region Disaster Operations Center rendered aid Tuesday to three victims of a house fire that broke out in the 900 block of Fourth Street.
The Santa Monica Fire Department responded to the early morning blaze around 4:45 and found the front room of a one store duplex engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
No injuries were reported. Three people lived in the residence. Red Cross volunteers, primarily from Santa Monica, helped secure temporary housing for the victims, as well as allowances for food and clothing.
Fire, water and smoke damage rendered the building uninhabitable and it was red-tagged by City Hall.
Additional support for the victims will include longer term relocation help, counseling and other services, if needed.
