The Santa Monica Boys & Girls Club, with the help of Malibu toymaker Jakk’s Pacific, Inc., will be giving away 10,000 Halloween costumes today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in an effort to help working families who are struggling during the economic recession.
Brandon LaBrie, the branch director, said kids will be able to pick out their own costumes from Disguise, including Disney costumes that include Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Power Rangers, Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean and many more.
Children will also receive a free membership to the Boys & Girls Club.
“We’re here to help,” LaBrie said.
Jakk’s donated 100,000 costumes to Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego.
The Santa Monica branch is located at 1238 Lincoln Blvd.
