The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce presents its annual, Economic Sustainability Summit State of the City on Wednesday, February 12 from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at the SGI World Peace Auditorium, 525 Wilshire Blvd. In keeping with this year’s theme, “Social Impact: Working Together to Shape Our Future,” the Keynote Speaker will be Mick Ebeling, founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs, a company committed to creating technology for the sake of humanity. Mayor Kevin McKeown will take the stage to deliver the 2020 State of the City Address and a networking reception with exhibitors, abundant small bites and beverages will take place immediately following the event.
“Celebrating twelve years, the Economic Summit, showcases the trends, projects, and individuals shaping our city’s economic future,” said Laurel Rosen, CEO and President of Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce “We have more than 9,500 businesses in Santa Monica. This forum will further help us collaborate with all types and sizes of businesses to help our community continue to thrive and prosper.”
The event is expected to attract more than 700 residents and leaders of Santa Monica companies. Providence St. John’s Health Center, Water Garden, Optimum Seismic, Plaza at Santa Monica and Santa Monica Place are among the sponsors scheduled to attend, representing an overview of Santa Monica’s diverse industries. “The Economic Summit is one of our most important events of the year. I encourage Santa Monica’s residents, business owners, non-profit organizations and anyone who has an interest in the future of our world-class city to attend,” said Laura McIver, current chair of the Chamber board and GM of Shutters on the Beach.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 5 p.m. The City has made it possible for Santa Monica residents to attend for free with proof of residency.
