On August 27 at 11:20 a.m.
SMPD officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of 11th Street for a prowling that had just occurred. According the reporting party, a suspect forced his way into the victim’s apartment. In summary, the victim noticed an unfamiliar male on the landing in front of her 2nd story apartment. She then opened the door and asked the male if he needed assistance. The male, later identified as Robert Brom proceeded to start yelling at the victim and accused her of being in his apartment. She immediately attempted to explain that the apartment did indeed belong to her. Brom refused to leave after being asked to do so multiple times and eventually crossed the threshold into the victim’s apartment and grabbed her by her wrists. This caused the victim to stumble backwards, thus breaking the hold. Brom then exited the apartment and was located near the 1100 block of Wilshire Blvd. He was placed under arrest for battery and issued a citation.
