On February 18, at about 1:17 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at the 1700 block of Appian Way regarding a subject holding a knife and approaching pedestrians and vehicles. Officers located the subject in the area of Pico Blvd and Appian Way. The subject was holding a knife. Officers engaged the subject and ordered him to drop the knife. The subject complied and was detained for an investigation. Officers learned the subject approached several people in a threatening manner as the subject was holding a knife and made threats to them. Robert Andrew McCarthy, 24 from Indianapolis, IN, was arrested for brandishing a weapon and probation violation. He was denied bail.
