On January 23, at about 9:20 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at the Apple Store – 1415 3rd Street Promenade – regarding a shoplifting. Officers spoke with loss prevention staff. Officers were told a male subject entered the store and selected a pair of EarPods from the sales floor and placed them in his pant pocket. The subject walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise. The subject was detained outside of the store and the merchandise was recovered. The store was desirous of prosecution. Amir Abdul-Hakeem, 29, from Philadelphia, was arrested for shoplifting. Bail was set at $5,000.
