Super Bowl Sunday will be primarily a wet one in Santa Monica and surrounding areas.
Showers are expected to tail off this morning and we may even see partly cloudy skies, but another band of unstable air should bring more rain by today's 3:30 p.m. PST kickoff.
The National Weather Service forecasts up to 1.5 inches of rain along the coast and up to 3 inches in the Santa Monica Mountains from now until Tuesday.
A High Surf Advisory remains in effect thru Monday morning in L.A. County with surf peaking at 8 to 12 feet today.
