On September 17 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
An SMPD night watch patrol unit responded to a radio call of an assault at Ozone Park. Dispatchers further relayed that the suspect was a male in his 50’s who had strangled a woman and left her unconscious at the park. Upon arrival, Officers were able to speak to the victim who identified the suspect as “Brian” and stated that he had eye gouged, hit her on the head with a guitar, shoved, and strangled her. With the assistance of nearby witnesses, Officers located the suspect and booked him for a 245(a)(1)PC- Assault with a deadly weapon, 245(a)(4)PC-Aggravated Assault to commit great bodily injury, and 203 PC- Mayhem.
