On Tuesday, September 3, stars came to the Casa del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica to kick-off the “Light It Blue”month-long campaign sponsored by the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) to commemorate Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Stars came out to see the Ferris wheel at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier lit blue joining many other landmarks and structures in all 50 states making history by “lighting America blue.” Light blue is recognized as the official color to shed a light on prostate cancer. On one specific day, “Light It Blue” will serve as a visual reminder that nearly 32,000 men are predicted to die from prostate cancer in 2019. By encouraging Americans (especially men) to take notice and take action, that number can be significantly reduced because prostate cancer is 99% treatable if caught early.
