On July 14 at about 9:18 p.m.
Downtown Patrol Officers were dispatched to the front of Starbucks, 1356 3rd Street regarding a male who was sleeping on the sidewalk. Officers made contact with the male, explained to him the law and asked him to get up. The subject became very angry, yelled several expletives at the officers then got into a fighting stance. Officers noticed that the subject was showing obvious signs of intoxication. The subject continued to disobey the Officer’s commands and so they asked for additional officers to assist. While taking the subject into custody, the suspect spat on one of the officers.
