On August 10, 2017 at about 11:46 a.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service regarding an assault with a deadly weapon occurring at the 3000 block of Ocean Front Walk. The reporting party indicated a victim had suffered a stab wound with a possible female suspect standing nearby. Officers located the victim and rendered aid to him. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The female subject was detained for an investigation. Officers determined the female subject was returning to her husband who was in the beach parking lot and noticed her husband was in a heated conversation with the victim. The male subject and victim continue to yell obscenities and lewd remarks towards each other. A struggle ensued between the two at which point the suspect retrieved a utility knife and swung it at the victim, striking him in the bicep. The suspect was taken into custody. The victim was treated and released with minor injuries.
Dashonna Espie, 43, from North Hollywood was arrested for conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.
