Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 9:49 p.m.,
Santa Monica police officers responded to the 1900 block of Alley 11 regarding a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they approached the vehicle and saw paraphernalia used for smoking heroin. Officers made contact with two people inside the car and found heroin and additional paraphernalia. The suspects were arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. They were identified as Darius Dehlavi, 34, of La Crescenta and Colby Bogust, 38, of Tujunga. Dehlavi was also booked for a probation violation. Dehlavi was not eligible for bail. Bogust’s bail was set at $10,000.
Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 8:30 a.m.,
Officers responded to the area of Sixth and Bay streets regarding a robbery. When officers arrived, they made contact with the victim who said a man named Billy approached him and asked for a cigarette. When the victim handed a cigarette to the suspect, the victim’s watch was exposed. The suspect allegedly demanded the watch and forcibly took it from the victim. The suspect fled from the scene. Later in the day, officers located the suspect in the 500 block of Olympic Boulevard. The suspect was in possession of the victim’s watch, police said. The suspect was booked for robbery and a parole violation. He was identified as William Valdez, 53, of Las Vegas. He was not eligible for bail.
Sunday, Nov. 29, at 3:51 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 700 block of Broadway — Vons — regarding a report of a theft that just occurred. While en route, officers saw a man who matched the description of the suspect. Officers made contact with the individual and allegedly recovered items that were stolen from the grocery store. The items, valued at $448,18, included shaving equipment and medical supplies. An employee positively identified the suspect and he was placed under arrest for burglary, a parole violation and giving false information to police. He was identified as Allen Smith, 51, a transient. He was not eligible for bail.
Friday, Nov. 27, at 8:20 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard — 7/11 — regarding a report of a strong arm robbery that just occurred. When officers arrived they made contact with the alleged victim who told them that a homeless man took several items and placed them in his backpack and underneath his shirt. The suspect approached the counter and was paying for an item. Police said the victim asked the suspect about the other items that were in his backpack and underneath his shirt. The suspect denied having any other items. The victim lifted the suspect’s shirt, revealing the stolen items. The suspect, Marcus McIntire, 50, a transient, allegedly punched the victim in the face and fled on foot. On Dec. 3, at 7:35 a.m., officers observed the suspect as he was headed to homeless service provider OPCC. The suspect was arrested for robbery. His bail was set at $50,000.
Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 5:42 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1600 block of Ocean Park Boulevard — Bob’s Market — regarding a fight in progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with witnesses who told them that a man entered the store and removed a bottle of Absolut vodka from the shelves and exited the store, failing to pay for the item. Once outside the store, the suspect was confronted by employees. The suspect refused to return the bottle of booze and a fight ensued. The suspect was taken into custody and booked for robbery and a probation violation. He was identified as Thomas Padilla, 43, of Santa Monica. No bail was set.
Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 9:30 p.m.,
Officers on routine patrol in the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard saw a man riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in violation of the municipal code. Officers stopped the suspect to issue him a citation. During their investigation, officers discovered that the suspect was in possession of cocaine and marijuana. The suspect, John Guldin, 42, of Santa Monica, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. His bail was set at $10,000.
Sunday, Dec. 6, at 6:53 a.m.,
Officers responded to the area of Fourth Street and San Vicente Boulevard regarding a report of vandalism in progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with a suspicious person at the rear of a building in the 600 block of San Vicente who matched the description of the vandalism suspect. Officers allegedly found a prescription pill that did not belong to him and some spray paint cans in his backpack. The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a narcotic (codeine) and vandalism. He was identified as Nicolas Bassill, 19, of Malibu. His bail was set at $20,000.
