The Santa Monica College Music Department will present a performance by the SMC Jazz Ensemble on Monday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Hall at the SMC Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th Street (at Santa Monica Boulevard), Santa Monica.
Under the baton of Frederick Keith Fiddmont, the ensemble will present a program that celebrates the centennial anniversary of Charlie (Bird) Parker and Yusef Lateef. Both jazz masters were born in 1920, but since the pandemic prevented a performance in 2020 to honor them, the ensemble decided to celebrate this year.
Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 (cash only). Free parking on premises. An I.D. and proof of vaccination (or negative test within 72 hours of the event) must be presented to attend the event. Masks are required at all times. Seating is strictly on a first-arrival basis.
More information is available by calling 310-434-4323.
