For the fifth straight game, Santa Monica High School’s baseball team hung double digit runs on a league opponent.
The latest target of the resurgent Samohi Vikings offensive attack was Beverly Hills on Tuesday. The Vikings routed the Normans, 18-7, on the road.
This follows wins over Morningside last week that saw the Vikings outscore their opponent 32-7.
The win puts Samohi (13-10 overall, 6-1 in league) atop the Ocean League standings along with Culver City. The two teams will duke it out during the final week of the regular season with a league title at stake.
While Samohi and Culver City are tied for first, Beverly Hills is still lurking in second place at 5-2. The Normans will get another shot to get back into the league title hunt with one more game against the Vikings. The game is scheduled for today at Samohi. The first pitch will be at 3:15 p.m.
