SAMOHI — A trio of Santa Monica High School football players have drawn interest from college recruiters, Head Coach Travis Clark said this week.
He said that senior wide receiver Kris Comas is garnering the most attention with Idaho, Portland State and UNLV as the schools most interested in the dynamic playmaker. All three are NCAA Division 1 programs.
“The kid has received a lot of attention,” Clark said of Comas, who scored a total of 20 touchdowns this season for the 4-6 Vikings. “There’s been a lot of activity with him lately.”
Clark said that officials from each school have made or plan on making trips to campus to meet with Comas.
Also catching the eyes or recruiters are running back/defensive back Brandon Taylor and linebacker Justyn Coker. Taylor, like Comas, is being looked at by UNLV and Portland State. Coker has drawn interest from Humboldt State, Western New Mexico and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
