To the editor:
I have enjoyed your articles about tennis history in Santa Monica.
At the present time, there are lots of lessons on the courts for substantial fees. However, there is a great shortage of courts just to play on with friends.
I attended some of the Land Use and Circulation Element (LUCE) meetings and others since then, including the airport-to-park proposal. When I mentioned that tennis courts should be included in some of the planning, the issue received no response and was quickly forgotten. Perhaps this issue could be included in one of your future articles.
