I am very disappointed in this program which so far is nothing. We have one green barrel for the whole alley of multiple dwellings. The mix of yard clippings which forces the can open and food waste is an invitation to dine for rats and unwanted insects.
In addition, I have read that we are supposed to start composting our kitchen waste starting January 1. However there has been no promotion for this. There has been no announcement of green barrels for every dwelling. Does the Resource and Recovery Division believe that residents will call to request the green barrels. I requested ours over five years [ago].
