Applications are now available for a position on the Santa Monica Commission on the Status of Women.
The nine-member commission advises the City Council and city officials on issues relating to women and girls, while also implementing its own 2010-15 Strategic Plan.
This plan outlines key priorities for women and girls in Santa Monica, including domestic violence and safety issues, mentoring and leadership opportunities.
Candidates must be Santa Monica residents and committed to attending meetings, which are held every second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Additional project participation will also be necessary to accomplish the Strategic Plan.
Applications are available at City Hall, 1685 Main St., in the lobby’s information booth or in the City Clerk’s Office, room 102. Forms may also be sent via mail as per request by calling (310) 458-8211, or filled out online at www.smgov.net/cityclerk.
