On August 24, 2017 at about 8:29 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service regarding a car burglary in progress at Beach Lot 3 South – 1750 Appian Way. The reporting party reported watching the suspect break into multiple cars in the lot and flee the area. Officers arrived and located the suspect in the 1700 block of Ocean Front Walk. The suspect was positively identified by the witness/reporting party. Officers were able to locate three vehicles in the lot that were broken into. The owners of the vehicles were located and noticed their vehicles had been rummaged through with property missing. The suspect was in possession of property from the vehicles. The suspect was taken into custody. Jason Louis Steinfeld, 48, from Los Angeles was arrested for burglary. Bail was set at $ 20,000.
