On September 24, 2019 at 7:20 p.m.
Downtown Service Officers observed an individual smoking in the 1400 block of Palisades Park. The subject was detained for the smoking violation and found to be in possession of another person’s debit card. The suspect made purchases at a local clothing store with this other person’s debit card. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Ruben Eduardo Amezcua Mijangos, 29, homeless, was arrested for burglary, identity theft, receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and smoking in a park. Bail was set at $50,000.
