Crime Watch – Shadowboxing with brass knuckles

Shortly after midnight, SMPD officers were dispatched to 4th and Colorado for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals matching the description that was relayed to the 9-1-1 dispatcher. Both males, under 25 years of age, admitted to shadowboxing and did not actually land any blows. After a brief discussion, Vernon Lamont Chapple, a Los Angeles resident, disclosed he was also in possession of metal knuckles, a violation of 2810 PC. Chapple was transported to the Santa Monica Jail where he was issued a citation.
