Incident of the day
On Jan. 27, officers contacted a woman in the SMPD lobby who wanted to report ongoing domestic violence.
The woman said the night prior her boyfriend drove her home from the hospital and began yelling and cursing at her for unknown reasons. He additionally hit her in the leg with his fist and broke the side view mirror off of her car. The woman also told officers about a prior incident on Jan. 20 where her boyfriend put his hands around her throat and slapped her in the face multiple times.
Offices documented the woman's injuries and obtained a temporary restraining order on her behalf. The following morning, officers located her boyfriend, served him with the protective order, and placed him under arrest for domestic violence.
Logan Kelly, of Santa Monica, had bail set at $50,000.
