Police are searching for two men who robbed a manager at Jamba Juice at gunpoint Monday night and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department said the two suspects were seen loitering outside the business, located on the corner of Fourth Street and Santa Monica Boulevard, around 10 p.m. as employees were closing for the night.
One of the men approached the store manager, who was taking out the garbage, and through a “ruse” was able to gain access to the business. Once inside, he pretended to have a weapon and forced the manager to let in his accomplice. The second suspect produced a handgun and ordered one employee into a backroom while the manager was forced to open a safe, Lewis said.
The suspects took the cash and fled on foot.
One suspect was described as an African-American male in his 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin build and acne scars on his face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and white shoes.
The other suspect was described as a Latino male in his 20s, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, thin with a moustache. He was wearing a red hat, black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and had “L.A.” tatooed under his left eye.
