On August 28, at approximately 9:29 p.m.
Officers responded to the 2600 block of Virginia Ave regarding an assault with deadly weapon that just occurred. Officers spoke with the victim who said, he and his girlfriend were walking back to their apartment when he encountered his roommate. The roommate was holding a metal knife and in an angry and aggressive manner and told the victim that he stole his things and then ran after him with the knife attempting to slash at him two to three times. The victim was not injured and the suspect was taken into custody. Raul Peralta Rufino, 22, from Santa Monica, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and a parole violation. He was denied bail.
