Tuesday, March 13, at 10:45 p.m.,
Officers were at the Public Safety Facility working the front desk when they saw a man park his car on the sidewalk out front. The man ran up to the front doors and began pounding on them. Officers met with the man, who told officers that he was driving in Venice when he saw a woman standing in the middle of the street. He said the woman would not talk with him or acknowledge him, so he brought her to the first police station he could remember. Officers tried to speak with the woman, who was allegedly displaying signs of being under the influence. She was ultimately placed under arrest. During a booking search, officers said they found cocaine and a glass pipe commonly used to smoke the drug. The woman was booked for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was identified as Kristy Nicole Evans, 24, of El Segundo, Calif. Her bail was set at $10,000.
Thursday, May 15, at 9 a.m.,
Officers were on routine patrol on the 200 block of Main Street when they were flagged down by someone who said they had just witnessed a woman pop the tires on two police cars that were parked outside. Officers called it in and began searching for the suspect. Officers eventually located a woman matching the suspect's description in the 500 block of Broadway. She was identified by the witness and placed under arrest for vandalism. In her possession was a potato peeler and a pair of scissors, police said. The suspect was identified as Angie Clemente, 43, a transient. Her bail was set at $1,000.
Saturday, March 17, at 6:13 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 300 block of the Santa Monica Pier — Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. — regarding a diner who refused to pay their bill. When officers arrived, they made contact with the restaurant manager who said that the suspect ordered food and three alcoholic beverages and after finishing his meal, the suspect walked out without paying. The manager confronted him. The suspect said that it was OK not to pay because he had a "pass," police said. The manager walked the suspect to the police sub-station to press charges. Officers placed the man under arrest for defrauding an innkeeper, public intoxication and a parole violation. He was identified as Deon Denard, 24, of Los Angeles. No bail was set.
Saturday, March 17, at 10:30 p.m.,
Officers assigned to work along Main Street in plain clothes to monitor local bars and restaurants during St. Paddy's day came across a man who offered to sell one of them cocaine. An undercover officer agreed and the suspect made a phone call and arranged for a second person to deliver the drugs outside a restaurant. Officers set up and approximately 15 minutes later the two suspects and the undercover officer arrived. When one of the suspects pulled out the cocaine, officers placed them under arrest. During a search, officers said they found the suspect with the cocaine to also be in possession of both Vicodin and Xanax without a subscription. Both suspects were arrested. Andrew Paul Barnes, 26, of Los Angeles, was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale. His bail was set at $30,000. James McAuliffe, 37, of Venice, was booked for possession of narcotics for sale and possession of a controlled substance for sale. His bail was set at $30,000.
