Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On August 28 at 9:30 p.m.
A couple and friend were eating at Shake Shack on 5th and Wilshire when an individual later identified as 45-year-old Nuno Ricardo Nurmanade threw a cup of water at them and exited the restaurant. The other parties followed the suspect outside of the restaurant to confront him. A verbal confrontation ensued which escalated into the suspect grabbing the victim by the neck and throwing her to the floor. Officers reviewed camera footage and the suspect was placed under arrest for battery. Nurmanade was transported to the Santa Monica Jail, booked and issued a citation.
