SMPD officers responded to the 300 block of Colorado regarding a reported of an individual throwing a substance believed to be urine at Santa Monica Place Security staff. While responding to the call, a Community Service Officer identified an active fire located close by near multiple gas lines. The same suspect that assaulted the security team was determined to be the person that started the fire. Officers extinguished the fire and arrested Geraldo Reyes, 43 years old, for Arson.
