Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department.
These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Officials are asking residents to be aware of a suspicious man lurking around Santa Monica schools. The man has been reported as speaking to pre-teen and teenage girls after school outside several campuses. The man is known to local law enforcement, however, had not been seen during the pandemic, until now. He typically engages girls in conversation, makes comments and has been seen taking photos of girls. In the past, he has followed female students on foot. The man is described as: early 70s, Hispanic, 6’0”, 210 lbs, gray hair, brown eyes, possible goatee. It is possible that he may be driving a white vehicle. Make and model unknown at this time. Residents and students are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings when walking to and from school, and at all times. Officials recommend that girls walk in pairs or groups, when possible. If anyone witnesses unusual behavior by anyone, please contact SMPD at (310) 458-8491 or We Tip: https://www.wetip.com/submit-a-tip/.
