On Feb 2 at about 5:55 p.m.
Officers responded to an arson call near the intersection of Neilson and Pacific after a witness reported seeing a man set fire to a trash can. Upon arrival, officers found a construction fence on fire and requested SMFD respond to extinguish the fire. While searching the area, officers located Dejuan Arshay Hall who was subsequently identified by the witness as the man who set the trash can on fire. During the investigation, officers learned that a second fire had been set in the area at about the same time and investigators recovered Hall’s identification at the scene.
