On Friday, October 22 at 10 p.m.
SMPD officers responded to the 100 block of Wadsworth Avenue for a burglary that had just occurred. Based on video footage, officers determined that two suspects broke into a subterranean garage, used bolt cutters to cut the lock of an electric scooter, but were unable to exit with the bike. One of the parties involved, Shawn Adams of Bakersfield was located nearby with the cut lock and arrested for burglary. He was issued a citation and released from the Santa Monica Jail. The incident was unrelated to a prior burglary on the same block.
