A 35-year-old man was sentenced yesterday to 32 years to life in state prison for sexually attacking four women in 2016, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Deputy District Attorney Oksana Sigal said Pablo Carlos Pineda, a transient in the Santa Monica area, pleaded no contest on May 14 to two counts each of assault with intent to commit a sex crime and one count each of kidnapping to commit a sex crime and second-degree robbery.
Pineda first sexually attacked a woman in Santa Monica on Jan. 13, 2016, and a second one on Feb. 5, the prosecutor said. During a third attack in Beverly Hills on April 15, 2016, the victim was beaten with a brick and suffered great bodily injury, the prosecutor added.
On July 2, 2016, Pineda kidnapped and sexually assaulted a fourth victim in West Los Angeles. The defendant was arrested in the MacArthur Park area on July 19, 2016.
