If you have children attending local public schools you may want to head to Malibu City Hall Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. for a candidates forum featuring the six people running for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education.
The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Santa Monica, the SMMUSD PTA Council and the city of Malibu.
The forum will be moderated by the league and will feature a panel of representatives from the two co-sponsoring organizations. Candidates will respond to a series of questions posed by the moderators, submitted by e-mail, from the press and from the audience, organizers said.
Three Malibu parents who are fighting to create a separate Malibu school district are running against three incumbents from Santa Monica.
