On April 3, at about 6:16 a.m.
While patrolling the 1500 block of 2nd Street, officers observed a subject lying on the sidewalk and wrapped up in a blanket in violation of a Santa Monica Municipal Code. Officers contacted the subject and noticed she was not clothed below the waist. The subject was unable to provide any identification. The subject was taken into custody and transported to SMPD Jail for booking. At the Jail, the subject became uncooperative and proceeded to pinch and grab at officers and jail staff. The subject kicked a Jailer at one point. Shannon Christine Morrison, 45, homeless, was arrested for battery of jail staff and sit/lie on the sidewalk. Bail was set at $20,000.
