The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department is pleased to present "Elephant's Graveyard" Mar. 20-29 at the Theatre Arts Main Stage on the SMC main campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
"Elephant's Graveyard" is based on the true tale of a struggling circus and what happened when it visited a tiny town in Tennessee in September 1916. The play explores the human craving for spectacle by combining historical fact and the compelling events that eventually became a legend.
Written by George Brant, "Elephant's Graveyard" won the 2008 Keene Prize for Literature and the 2008 David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award. The SMC production is directed by Terrin Adair-Lynch.
