Nicholas Bruss leads "Mindful Compassion," an experiential workshop, on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. in Main Library's Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
Self-compassion and compassion for others strengthens community by building human connection. Our common humanity is a core aspect of compassion. This workshop offers practical tools to reduce judgment and resistance, and strengthens motivation to ease our own distress and alleviate the suffering of others.
Bruss, director of the non-profit organization CompassionLA, was trained to teach mindfulness and compassion at UCLA and Stanford University and is a licensed psychotherapist in Santa Monica and the San Fernando Valley.
This program is free and all ages are welcome. Space is limited and on a first-arrival basis.
