DOWNTOWN — The Market at Santa Monica Place is welcoming four new purveyors to the third-floor dining destination.
Raw food aficionado Matthew Kenney is set to open a restaurant and raw food culinary academy to help people learn how to cook raw food the healthy way. Students at Matthew Kenney Culinary Santa Monica will get to use dehydrators, thermal immersion circulators and smokers.
The menu at M.A.K.E. will consist of organic, unprocessed, plant-based foods that are heated below 105 degrees.
"I want to share the lifestyle and enjoyment of raw cuisine with our diners in Los Angeles, where amazing local produce and a clean-living culture already exist," Kenney said in a press release.
The restaurant and academy are set to open this fall.
Also new at The Market:
Curious Baker, which opened in August, features sandwiches, salads and a full bakery, with croissants, muffins, scones, Danish, cookies and brownies. The location also offers a juice bar with smoothies and healthy drinks.
Curious Cheese offers more than 30 kinds of cheese from across the world, along with a variety of cured meats and wine and beer — your taste buds will thank you. Curious Cheese is now open.
La Petite Pantry offers packaged food and utensils, and kitchen cabinet staple ingredients such as almond flour, pistachio nutmeat, cupcake papers and pannetone cups. La Petite Pantry is also up and running.
