APPLICANT: A public hearing will be held by the Zoning Administrator to consider the following request:
A variance to allow for a 105 square-foot addition to an existing 182 square-foot garagein the 20-foot front setback of the lot. The site contains a single-family dwelling.
Pursuant to Santa Monica Municipal Code (SMMC) Section 9.04.20.10.030 (Variance – Applicability), the Zoning Administrator may grant a variance to modify the design stan- dards and location of off-street parking requirements.
SMMC Section 9.04.10.08.190 (Location of required parking spaces) allows for parking in the front one-half of the lot where the parcel has no alley access, and provided that no part of a required front yard (setback) shall be used for parking spaces.
