Writers Mingle Peer Critique Night
Last month was all about the picture book. Now it's time for those of you who like to tell your story in thousands and thousands of words to have your night.
Come one, come all, to the annual MG/YA Critique Night, in which we break into small groups to offer kind yet useful feedback to each others' manuscripts. This is a great opportunity to find out what is working well in your manuscript as well as what could use a little polishing.
To participate, choose five pages from your manuscript and make six stapled copies. This may be the first five pages or any other five pages, but if you bring something from the middle of your book, expect to give a short summary of what came before so your critique partners aren't totally lost.
To assure everyone gets a turn, each author will get an allotted amount of time to read and receive feedback.
It's 100% okay and encouraged for you to come even if you don't write novels, and even if you don't want to bring material to share. Those who are reading will value your feedback.
As always, an RSVP is not required to attend, but it helps us prepare. RSVP to westsidewriters@gmail.com. Participants are encouraged to bring sharable snacks.
