For the 13th consecutive year, Santa Monica Film Festival (#SMFF) returns to Santa Monica hosted by Laemmle Monica Film Center for film screenings and 1212 Santa Monica for the Awards Party on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
Each awards season, Santa Monica Film Festival curates new, compelling and innovative films and supports the creative economy of Santa Monica by offering locals and KCRW members free screening tickets available online at (www.smff.org).
The 2018 Santa Monica Film Festival will take place on Saturday December 8 hosted by Laemmle Monica Film Center and 1212 Santa Monica. This year’s festival showcases 26 current award winning independent films from local, national and international filmmakers. A filmmaker Q&A that gives the audience an opportunity to interact with the filmmakers accompanies each film screening block.
Films screen from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Laemmle Monica Film Center. The festival concludes with an Awards Presentation and Cocktail Party at 8:30PM @ 1212 Santa Monica. Award Presenters include Ted Winterer (Mayor of Santa Monica); Alci Rengifo (Film Critic, Rotten Tomatoes).
