Bank of America announced it recently awarded its first round of grants for the year totaling nearly $3.3 million to 86 local nonprofits across Los Angeles providing workforce development, health resources and other basic needs to individuals and families.
Recent awardees include workforce development support for The Chrysalis Center’s Chrysalis Employment Program and Adventist Health White Memorial’s healthcare workforce training programs for Hispanic youth, and basic needs support for Food Forward to help expand healthy food access in Los Angeles County.
“Partnering with impactful local organizations to address important issues like youth workforce development, pathways to employment and health is part of our commitment to creating real change in Los Angeles,” said Raul A. Anaya, president, Bank of America Los Angeles. “Investing in nonprofits helps provide the resources and support needed to help build thriving communities long-term.”
These grants build on the $54 million Bank of America provided to Los Angeles organizations since 2019 and are part of the bank’s longstanding commitment to supporting economic opportunity for diverse communities. Employee volunteerism continues to be an important and valuable contribution to local nonprofits, with Los Angeles employees logging more than 222,000 volunteer hours since 2019.
