On Sunday, May, 8 at approximately 3:20 a.m.
Officers responded to Ocean Ave and Hollister regarding a call of someone brandishing a weapon. The reporting party explained to officers that he was at the beach mediating and upon returning to his vehicle parked in Lot 4 South he was confronted by multiple individuals, one of which pointed a gun at his legs. A group of three individuals was located nearby and identified by the victim as the suspects involved in the incident. Based on the information provided and the witness confirmation that the suspect in custody was the one that pointed the gun at him, officers placed Dahmeer Williams under arrest for an assault with a deadly weapon. After searching the suspect’s vehicle and the sand where the suspect was arrested, no weapon was located. Williams was transported to the Santa Monica Jail and eventually posted bail after being transferred into Los Angeles County custody.
