Officers arrived at Tongva Park regarding an Assault. The victim, a Downtown Ambassador, had arrived for his shift when he encountered a transient individual washing a bike helmet outside the bathroom sink. As the victim explained that he could not do that, the subject became argumentative and challenged the victim to a fight. The subject left and later returned with a broom in his hand and attempted to hit the victim with it. This escalated into a fight between the two until the subject walked away. Lazarius Deshun Deleon was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
