The classic sanctuary of St. Matthew’s Parish in Pacific Palisades will resume its additional role as home to world class chamber music as Chamber Music Palisades presents the initial concert of its 25th season on Wednesday, October 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available for $35 at the door at 1031 Bienveneda and guests must provide proof of vaccine and be prepared to wear masks.
Leading the artists will be harpist Cristina Montes who was called, “One among the very few individuals who have reached the top of their field,” by Conductor Zubin Mehta. Joining Ms. Montes will be violinist Madalyn Parnas Moller who recently appeared as guest soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra; violist and composer Jonah Sirota, a founding member of the Grammy-nominated Chiara Quartet and currently a member of the California String Quartet; and French cellist Juliette Herlin, winner of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe String Competition, who has performed throughout Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
Works to be performed include a Nocturne by Fermo Bellini, Fantasy Sonata by Arnold Bax, Danza Espanola by Manuel de Falla, a Fantasy by Saint-Saens, and a String trio by Beethoven.
Traditionally, CMP welcomes full time students with ID free of admission charge and tickets for the four-concert series will be available at $120 at cmpalisades.org.
