On Aug. 11 approximately 6:42 p.m.
SMPD Officers responded to 17th Street and Wilshire Blvd regarding a "Brandishing a Weapon" radio call. The reporting party said there were two male subjects fighting in the street and one had a machete. When officers arrived they made contact with the victim, who had minor lacerations which required treatment on scene by the SMFD Paramedics. The suspect involved left prior to the Officer’s arrival, and they were unable to locate him. The victim refused to provide information on the incident or the suspect, however witnesses did provide officers with a statement and one was able to secure the machete, which was recovered by the Officers.
The suspect is described as a Male Hispanic or White, approximately 45-55 years old, 5'5" - 5'9" and 150-170 lbs.
The suspect was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, light grey pants, and grey shoes. He was on a white bicycle why carrying a white plastic bag.
