Santa Monica Public Library, in partnership with the City Manager’s Office, is hosting a series of Social Justice Book Discussions. The second title in the series is The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. This groundbreaking book challenges the civil rights community, and all of us, to place mass incarceration at the forefront for racial justice in America. The program takes place on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and is an opportunity to connect and discuss social justice topics that are important to our community.
